August 2004

Well it’s been almost a week since I posted last. Nothing particularly interesting happened. And such is the return to the blog….. I post about 3 days in a row, and then pow, nothing. No one signed up for the freeipod, no one commented about wanting to play Pirates of the Spanish Main, nothing. I’m a big blog whiner. I’m sure DaB has plenty to say about bloggers like myself, but what can a man do.

Today is Caleb’s birthday party, not until 4. Amy’s got the house mostly clean. She has a little left to do.. and I have to take a bunch of stuff to the dump. Caleb and I got up a little bit ago and had a bowl of cereal. or two. Now we’re sitting here watching Spongebob.

We’re in this crazy weather pattern it’s like 60 degrees outside right now…. by 4 i doubt it’ll be 80. I’m glad that it’s gonna be a nice day….. August birthday parties are almost always gonna be stifling hot, but not this year. It’s not like I have that many to compare it to. Well I guess I’m gonna sign off.

Last night between headaches, Caleb and I drove around town looking for this new game by WizKids. We found it at Legends Games and Comics in Towson. I bought 5 packs at $3.99 each. It’s sold like baseball cards, included in each pack is a tiny d6, 2 ships, an island, some treasure, and possibly some crew or other goodie. The ships are made from the little plastic cards, similar to z-cards which you punch out and construct a miniature ship. They’re fairly sturdy. So I ended up with 10 different ships and an assortment of other stuff. We haven’t had time to sit down and figure out the game yet, but it looks like fun. If anyone else in the area has any desire to play this game, contact me.

Yesterday we started working on the baby’s room. I moved the computer out of it and down into the basement. Also moved the desks out of that room as well. So now I’m in the basement. Amy started painting last night, she did the first two walls, and after church today painted the other two walls. I’m sure she’ll put up some pictures of it later. She really did a great job.

When we got home from church this morning we noticed that there was some paint bubbling away from the wall in the living room. As I inspected more, it appears that our roof may be leaking. Really, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. We recently refinanced, and got ourselves into a position during it that we didn’t have a choice but to go through with it, but ultimately I feel like we got screwed over. I’ve been sort of depressed in general as a result of this. Amy was stressed over it during the process, but now she’s alright with it, me, I’ve yet to recover. We’re awful with money, saving, and such, and everyday it just seems to get worse. I’m sure that things will get better, and are probably not nearly as bad as I’m imagining, but until then….anyone know any roofers that works for free?
