So I’m the first one home, so I get to give the first report. I’m impressed, including myself, there were 10 baltimore area bloggers at Brewers Art tonight. This gives me hope that there might actually have some sort of summer get togethers or something. So I’ll give the roll call - MB,Kelly,Da Brettman,Sea Dragon(let me know if I can use your real name, that goes for anyone),Eeoyre B’more,Bre,Presence (I’m sorry I don’t remember your real name, or know if you even want me to use it),Alex,Technomind ( sorry- same as above). I don’t know about anyone else, but this was an excellent time. I’m glad I got to meet all of you. I hope you all feel the same. I know there are some pictures floating about, if you care, make sure you let whoever posts them that you’d rather not have your face on your blog….. Brett.

First time I went to Brewers. I had the Resurection Brew, not too sure I’m happy with the name, but it was a great darker beer, ala Killians. Good stuff, very smooth, much better than the Bud I had at the bar down the street before I showed at Brewers.

After work, I walked towards Brewers, about 10 blocks from my office. No big deal. I hadn’t had dinner, so I was on the prowl. I stoped at a bar, Irish name, forget it though…. had 25c wings. I sat at the bar and had a beer while reading the City Paper and waiting on the wings to arrive. When I got the wings I noticed the specks of pepper all in the sauce…. I was stoked. These were probably the best wings I’ve had in a long, long time. After eating the wings I moseyed on up to Brewers where I was the first to meet up with MB and Kelly… slowly other geeks arrived. It was funny, Eeyore suggested that Brewers has two floors, the piercing floor and the Prada floor. It’s pretty true, however I don’t think any of us were really in the Prada crowd, we ended up upstairs anyway. We commendeered a couch and a few chairs…. we were set.

Anyway, this really was a great time. Thanks guys. ANy other area bloggers- make sure you make the next meet up- MB and Kelly - great job with the organizing.

Oh look, an actual blog entry, working my way back into the scene. Perhaps in the coming months I might have some more interesting things to blog about.

So, yes. Today is my birthday. I turn 26 today. We celebrated with my parents last weekend with a nice dinner, paid for with some of our tax money. Amy made me a cake then. Today she came by the office and we went and had lunch together. This is an activity that we don’t get to enjoy much, now that I work downtown and you have to pay to park. Caleb and her had given me cards. When I got home she had some decorations up and had made another cake. She really is a sweet heart, and I think I’ll keep her. ;-)

We had friends over for dinner this evening. It wasn’t for my birthday, but because it was the best day that fit into our schedules. They brought me a card and a gift card for Blockbuster, I didn’t even know that they knew it was my birthday. Their kids wished me a happy birthday as soon as they walked in the door. It was special.

Ron and Barb and Amy and I talked about evangelism and outreach. We talked about some things that we know we need to work on, things that God has given us passion for, and how we’re going to pursue that passion. Ron is an amazing leader, I’m very thankful to have him as a mentor. Barb and Amy seemed to hit it off well. Barb was a school teacher before she became a stay-at-home mom, I think she definately has some insight and could be a very valuable resource to Amy. They left us with some homework. I hate homework.

Years ago when I met Dean I could never have envisioned what the future would be like, geez, I was only in 8th grade! Dean was freshman in high school! From the moment I saw him and he made me laugh I was sold on him. He can still make me laugh and I love him more now than ever. He’s the best father to our beautiful son and each day amazes me with how he can make our little boy giggle in delight. He’s got the biggest heart of anyone I know. He’s the only man I know that I’ve seen cry and does so often, mostly because of his big compassionate heart being too full! Every day with Dean is a new adventure, and with the passing of another birthday I am thankful to God for another year with the man he’s given me as my soul mate and head of my home and anticipate another wonderful year ahead!!! So happy birthday Baby!!!! You are loved more than words could ever say but I thought I’d at least try…..Happy Birthday Honey!! this is Amy wishing Dean-o a very happy 26th Birthday!!! we all love you very much!!!
